Join the Celebration!!! Welcome to the 13th annual Fourth of July Spangle Dangle Celebration, an event for all ages. The day will begin with a Parade at 10 am in downtown Johnson City Texas. Once again it is time to break out the lawn chairs and grab a spot on the parade route which starts at the corner of LBJ Drive and East Pecan Avenue going west to Nugent Avenue then making a right around the Blanco County Courthouse and then going east on Cypress Street back to LBJ Drive.
Anyone can participate in the parade so dress up in your most patriotic attire and be a part of it. That is what makes a parade so much fun. Again we are having the most patriotic child and animal combo, so kids talk to the elders and get them to help you dress up with your animal of choice. Be safe with your decision though be it a dog, cat, horse, pig, cow, chicken, goat or whatever. There will be trophies for the most Patriotic Child and Animal Presentation as well as 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place Best Floats and the most Patriotic Float.
Things will get underway at the Blanco County Fairgrounds starting with the washer pitching competition. Registration begins at noon and competition starts at 1 pm. The music venue will begin at 3pm at the outside pavilion, Blanco County Fairgrounds with none other than DJ Freddie who will be entertaining us with the best of all kinds of music- western, rock, hip hop and requests from you. DJ Freddie will be playing from 3 pm until 6 pm then 8 pm to 9:15 pm and finishing the evening from 10 pm until midnight. Singer/Songwriter Scooter Pearce will be performing from 6 pm until 8 pm.
There will be some fun activities taking place from 6 pm to 9 pm such as Ron Sitton & his famous Longhorn Bull of Luckenbach TX, Carriage Rides by Dennis Moore's Buggy Barn Museum of Blanco TX, Face Painting by Shannon Anderson of Old Thyme Fun Shop, Fredericksburg TX and a moon walk.
