

Congratulations to the Blanco County 4-H Shooting Education shooters who participated in the Texas State BB Gun Championship that was held in New Caney, Texas on March 12. 15 shooters and coaches represented Blanco County including: Back Row Left to Right: Donnie Sprouse (Coach), Shannon Sultemeier (Coach), Chris Welch (Coach), Dakota Metcalf, Reid Sultemeier, Degan Roy, Cody Sprouse, Keen Linson, Adrianna Mayes and Heath Eckenrode. Second Row Left to Right: Daniel Friesenhahn, Hailey Bickley, Joshua Vasquez, Antonio Perez, Nelson Friesenhahn, Hannah Roy, Dusti Welch, Rylee Welch, and Gordon Dowdy (Instructor). A total of 7 medals were won by the following individuals in their age groups: Cody Sprouse (3rd in Sitting), Dakota Metcalf (3rd in Prone), Blaze Welch (3rd in Sitting), Antonio Perez, (2nd in Sitting), and Hannah Roy (3rd in Prone, 3rd in Standing, 3rd Overall).
The competition included several teams and individuals throughout the State of Texas. This competition consisted of a written 50 question test followed by actual shooting in four positions which included prone, standing, sitting, and kneeling.
Heading up this great group of shooters was the Blanco County 4-H Shooting Education Instructor Gordon Dowdy along with coaches Shannon Sultemeier, Chris Welch, and Donnie Sprouse.
