San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo

Saddle up because the annual San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo on February 8-25, 2018 is worth the trip! Awarded PRCA Large Indoor Rodeo of the Year for over a decade, this event is one not to miss!

You can start your rodeo experience with our Rodeo Kick Off Special – purchase two tickets to any evening performance on Feb. 8, 9 and 10 and you get your choice of two rodeo t-shirts, a $10 Whataburger gift card, or a $10 H-E-B gift card while supplies last.

And, before you check out the best cowboys and cowgirls in the world, head on over to the grounds for a bite to eat. There are several new tasty items in the food court like a venison burger, bbq parfait, bacon wrapped corn and so much more. For dessert, you must try the Cracker Jack Caramel Sundae, fried baklava or a Snickers waffle. To top it off, you can stay refreshed with adult libations at the Craft Beer Tap Room and Wine Garden.

Your kiddos will also want to see all of the attractions in Family Fair. At Texas Longhorns 101, you can get up close and learn about the official mammal of Texas, native Texas longhorns. Step into the Butterfly Encounter and you will be surrounded by hundreds of butterflies all while learning about the butterfly lifecycle. High energy attractions will alternate throughout the event such as the Pompeyo Family Dog Show, X-POGO and Chicago Boyz.

Stroll through the barns to see more than 70,000 animals parade through including cattle, sheep, goats, poultry and swine. Miniature Herefords, a fan favorite, can be seen on Saturday, February 10. On the last weekend of the Rodeo (Feb. 24 & 25), the barns will transition to hold the Junior Agricultural Mechanics Show & Marketplace – an event that showcases student-built projects like restored tractors, bar-b-cue pits, as well as farm and ranch equipment.

Head on over to the Expo Hall for all that is equine like barrel racing, cutting, ranch sorting and team roping. Even more exciting is the Youth Rodeo competition, held February 19-22, as rodeo’s brightest young athletes compete in new timed events like saddle bronc, bareback, even bull riding.

For more information and to plan your schedule, go to sarodeo.com or download the SA Rodeo app. Tickets start at just $15 for grounds admission, rodeo and concert.
