The wildfire along and to the west of RM 2831 on August 18, 2020 burned almost 400 acres and called for the voluntary evacuation of two neighborhoods. But only one home was lost and no injuries were sustained, thanks to the efforts of the dozens of fire agencies who responded to the emergency. In an interview this week, Horseshoe Bay Fire Chief Brent Batla said the initial call came in at 3:19 p.m.
