Jennifer Hoyt of Horseshoe Bay qualified to play in the U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur, which will be held at The Lakewood Club in Clear Point, Alabama on September 10-15. Jenn shot an even par 72 on Thursday at Magnolia Creek GC in League City and was one of three qualifiers to advance from that location.
A casual discussion in the Horseshoe Bay post office about local published authors became a vibrant discussion on Nextdoor.com that has led to the creation of the first ever writers’ forum here in Horseshoe Bay. In an effort to unite the writing community living in Horseshoe Bay and its surrounding communities, published authors and writers (books, bloggers, journalists), aspiring writers, professional editors, illustrators, and publishers are invited to meet on Sept.
I know, I know, the exit of Texas and Oklahoma (by 2025, I guess) is a Big Deal Blow to the shrinking Little 12. There are millions to be lost plus prestige and maybe College Football Playoff participation. We all have problems. Already we hear of talks between the “Big Eight” and the Pac-12.
