Wimberley is Bootiful. That isn’t a misspelled word. Oh, sure, Wimberley is beautiful and everyone who lives here or who visits will attest to that fact, but two years ago the village became “bootiful” thanks to all those big artistic boots you see all around. These are fiberglass boots, six feet tall and planted at various businesses, art galleries, the library, the visitors center, the high school, the Wimberley Institute of Cultures, the United Me ...
Here’s a bed and breakfast inn that couldn’t be any more perfect: The Inn at Chachalaca Bend in Los Fresnos. The first thing you notice is that it’s out of way, way off the beaten path. Next, after you drive through the gate, you travel through a tunnel created by palms and cactus and mesquite and ebony.
“THE LAND OF LIVING WATERS”
Kimble County is located in the western corner of the Hill Country, approximately 100 miles west of San Antonio.  IH-10 cuts through the northern part of the City of Junction, its county seat, and US Hwys 83, 290 and 377 intersect here, along with numerous Ranch Roads, Farm-to-Market and county roads.
What was this fish? The vintage fiberglass rod throbbed, then dipped and bowed like a wispy willow in a heavy wind. The 12-acre campus has been a long undertake, and on March 19, the FTRA will host the Grand Opening of Phase I, which includes the Open-Air Texas Ranger Pavilion, the Campanile, or bell tower, which is a Beacon for Learning and a Salute to Good Citizenship. A huge Texas Ranger badge sculpture is the Ranger Ring of Honor Memorial, dedicated to those who lost their lives in the line of duty; names of those who sacrificed everything to serve Texas are inscribed there. In addition, there is an Amph ...
It was a hot afternoon this past July and you could feel the sun beating down, as relentless and burning as a Biblical plague. The grey-bearded old man found the shady spot he was looking for, then slowly began preparing his rig.  It took longer than normal because it had been years since he’d been able to fish this spot.
From Mercado Central to Texas Hill Country Farmers Markets
When I was a little girl growing up in Central America, I loved going to the Mercado. I was blessed to have a Costa Rican mom and an American dad, which resulted in spending the wonder-filled days of my childhood in Costa Rica. We lived in the capital city of San Jose and its Mercado Central is huge, taking up a full city block.
Luling and Gonzales Big on History
Small towns in Texas find ways to go from just a spot along the road on the way to someplace else to a distinctive stop along that road. Luling and nearby Gonzales are good examples of that. You might just be dashing through and not notice a thing except a stop light, but stop for a bit, look around, and what you’ll find is likely to surprise you and keep you busy all day long.
