Texas State Arts and Crafts Fair Returns to Kerr County

More than 100 artists, exhibitors, musicians food vendors and demonstrators will sprawl across 13 acres on the Guadalupe River when the Texas State Arts and Crafts Fair returns to Kerr County on the grounds of the Hill Country Arts Foundation in Ingram, Sept. 25-26.

After last year’s cancellation, this fall’s event promises a return of favorite features and a few changes. Admission is $10 and will be good for both days of the fair. All students under 18 will be admitted free of charge.

Among the new additions to the 2021 fair will be the Youth Art Competition. The competition was open to public and private high school students in the following counties: Bandera, Edwards, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble and Medina. Professor Marcia Rae McCully and her arts management students at Schreiner University will help administer the competition and exhibit at the fair.

Visitors will be treated to a wide range of arts and crafts exclusively by Texas residents, as well as favorite fair food offerings, entertainment and related educational and recreational activities.

The invitation-only “Heritage Artists” exhibit will be indoors at the foundation's Duncan-McAshan Gallery. Invited exhibitors include regional artists who have a historical connection to the arts and crafts fair and to the Hill Country Arts Foundation.

Pickin’ and grinnin’ on the Stonehenge Stage will feature Clifton Fifer’s Sunday morning gospel set, and other Texas musicians including Haywire, Kerrvana, The Flashbacks, Mark Squared and student choirs from Hunt, Ingram and Kerrville.

Joining the food lineup this year will be Conchita’s Mexican Fusion Cuisine, along with perennial favorites Bill’s Barbecue, the Crepe Lady, and Richard Morris’ brick oven pizza, and funnel cakes among other crowd pleasers.
