Junction Texas hosted their first Up & Back Kayak/Canoe Race on Labor Day Weekend 2017 with 16 paddlers seeking to win the $1000 grand prize. This boat race was brutal, challenging athletes to paddle up the South Llano River from the Junction City Park, approximately 16 miles upriver to the First Crossing, turn around and paddle back to the starting point.
The Lago Vista & Jonestown Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the City of Jonestown will be putting on the 2nd Annual Jonestown Cajun Cook-Off on Saturday, April 7 from 11:00 am -7:00 pm at Jones Brothers Park in Jonestown Texas. In addition to the competitive teams competing in Gumbo and Etouffe categories, there will be live music from Off the Grid, Clyde and Mighty Pelicans.
Beginning at the home of Ferdinand Lindheimer, the “Father of Texas Botany”, explore six historically significant structures of New Braunfels. These homes will be open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 4th with docents present in each home with a full history on the buildings.

Beginning with one Oomph band on a flatbed trailer seventeen years ago the festival has become an annual tradition in Tomball and one of the best music/street festivals in Texas. Every spring festivalgoers break out their Lederhosen and Dirndls “Go German” for the area’s largest festival celebrating the heritage of the original German families that settled this area beginning in about 1840.
It’s time again to rosin up those bows because the Llano Fiddle Fest Weekend is coming back to Llano April 6th through April 8th! The featured event will be the 41st Llano Open Fiddle Contest. That’s a big deal for Llano, folks! What started as an open fiddle contest on the banks of the Llano River in Robinson Park in 1976 continues stronger than ever as a 3 day event.
