This traditional English style afternoon tea has become an anticipated event in Llano for the past nine years and is in conjunction with the Llano Christmas Weekend events. Each year the tea boast a different theme with coordinating food and decorations. The theme this year is “A German Christmas in Llano” The tea foods will be inspired by German recipes of savories and sweets along with an assortment of black teas and herbal teas.
An old proverb states, “Don’t change horses in midstream”. The Edmiston family, proprietors Bronco Sue Custom Hats, did just that. They left their life in Georgetown, Texas, for the lure of ranching in Mason County to bring up their daughter in the ranching tradition established by Chip Edmiston’s family in the 1890s.
Lights Spectacular–Hill Country Style
What began 32 years ago as a modest idea to light up the local courthouse for a fundraiser, has grown to drape an entire town with millions of lights that are visible from outer space. Johnson City truly deserves its name of The Twinkliest Town in the Texas Hill Country.
“We are proud of that title,” said Patty Terrell Chimene, Lights Spectacular Chair, who has helmed the annual event for the past three years.
