Fishing the Spawn
Each spring, usually around the end of April and well into May, shad move to the shallows to spawn and the first couple of daylight often produces line stretching action on every game fish species in the lake. Catfish, white bass, hybrids and stripers and largemouth bass move into the shallows to feed on the easy pickings. A fishing trip this past week with Cedar Creek Lake guide Jason Barber proved this statement to be spot on.
