Austin—The Senate Education committee gave the public its first look at that chamber's proposal for sweeping education finance reform on Thursday, April 25. The bill would include property tax relief, a teacher pay raise, and funding provisions aimed at making the system more equitable and effective. Committee chair and Friendswood Senator Larry Taylor says the plan focuses resources on those students that need the most help.
