Grant Cole, a 37-year-old Johnson City man, was found guilty of the enhanced first degree felony offense of Manufacture/Delivery of Methamphetamine, 4 grams or more, but less than 200 grams on Wednesday, October 23, 2023. Judge Evan Stubbs of the 424th Judicial District Court accepted Cole’s plea of “Guilty” and then sentenced Cole to 50 years in prison after hearing punishment evidence from the State and Defense.
On November 13, 2023, the Texas Silver-Haired Legislative members received their liaison assignments for the 2024-25 Biennium. Each elected official serving in the 2021-23 Biennium has been ascribed a representative from TSHL for the purpose of developing a relationship and communication system to identify needs of aging Texans. The Llano Volunteer Fire Department was among the agencies that responded to the Mason County Courthouse blaze last week. As the deadline to submit comments or requests for a public hearing draws near, the Lower Colorado River Authority has seen residents expressing their concerns about a proposed sand mining plant along the Llano River arm of Lake LBJ. Folks have until tomorrow, Feb. 4, to submit comments or protests regarding the Kingsland Sand & Gravel Plant; the deadline to request a public hearing is Monday Feb.
On Monday, January 25, 2021, the Llano Chamber of Commerce began visiting schools and businesses via the Llano Chamber Surprise Patrol, to deliver the Chamber’s annual community awards. The awards, normally given during the Annual Chamber banquet, were instead given “Publisher’s Clearing House” style, because of COVID-19. The City will be renewing a five year contract with our current solid waste services provider, Waste Connection Lone Star, Inc. Let’s review some important points about the service. Roll outs should be placed within 5 feet of the curb before 7 am on collection day. All household garbage should be bagged and tied. Up to 3 extra bags are allowed placed next to the roll out. Back door service is available for handicapped residents with prior written notice.
Tommi Myers began her career 22 years ago with the Llano County Library, May 20, 1999, and on Friday she said farewell and is looking forward to retirement with her husband.
