Honey Creek Guided Walk - at Guadalupe River State Park

Imagine the Hill Country of 100 years ago – see it for yourself at Honey Creek State Natural Area. This protected piece of land harbors plants and animals nurtured by a 1.5-mile spring-fed creek. Access to Honey Creek is only by guided tour. We lead two-mile tours of the natural area most Saturdays and Sundays. For details, check our Events Page at https://tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/honey-creek/park_events On the tour, you’ll hear about history, geology, plants, and animals of this special place. At the scenic overlook, you’ll get a first glimpse of Honey Creek winding through bald cypress trees far below. The tour culminates in a walk by the pristine and peaceful creek. The trail is about two miles long and moderate in difficulty--much of it is flat. There are some rocky areas, slopes, and two steep but short hills. *Expect the walk to last ~2.5 hours - there are frequent stops where your Guide will discuss topics such as flora, fauna and geology. Who: Recommended for ages 7 and up; no dogs, please, except for service dogs Meet: Outside the Rust House (located within Guadalupe River State Park) When: 9- 11:30am Bring: Sturdy footwear, water, and sun protection. It is imperative to dress for the weather and be hydrated during the summer months. Cost: Free with park admission; Adults: $7, Children 12 & under: Free Registration is required for this event - please see the events page link above.

Family Night Hikes accommodate short legs and short attention spans, and are great ways for children and families to explore The Cibolo and see what lives in the park in the dark! Night Hikes are approximately an hour and a half long. Please note that the times change as the sunset time progresses. Fees/Admission: $30 per family

There are a variety of bargains to be found such as jewelry, plants, art, handcrafts, collectibles, antiques, and more.
