Winter Drive Underway
Dawn and Glen Capra have been sorting the donated used clothing at the First Christian Church, one of 20-something churches around central Texas supporting the campaign. The clothes will be cleaned, sorted and stored to await the next disaster, then they’ll be delivered overnight to survivors in shelters.
Johnson City’s annual winter disaster used clothing drive is down to the last few weeks — the truck will come bay to pick up all the donations in about three weeks. "That’s enough time, though, for you to clear things you’ll never wear again out of your closets,” said Dawn Capra of the First Christian Church, "and donate them to someone who will need them some day when they least expect it."
