This year Blanco County voters not only have a choice on what to vote for but also how they fill out their ballot. This is the second election which utilizes the recently purchased ballot computers. The first being the constitutional amendment election last year. Voters may now choose whether they want to fill out a ballot by hand or by computer. “They asked me if I wanted to do it the old way or the new way,” said one Blanco County voter Tuesday after casting their vote.
Commissioners Court was held on Tuesday Feb. 27. They accepted a recommendation from the CAD Search Committee for Zuercher Technology. CAD Recommendation Commissioners accepted the recommendation made by the committee charged with seeking a company for Computer Aided Dispatch. Johnson City’s annual winter disaster used clothing drive is down to the last few weeks — the truck will come bay to pick up all the donations in about three weeks. Johnson City won the coin flip and chose to battle the Jourdanton Indians at Boerne High School, Tuesday, February 20, for a District 25/26 Bi-District Playoff game. The Eagles soared, having one of their highest scoring games of all season, but it was not enough to topple the Indians, as JC fell 81 to 85. Playoff magic was in the air before tip-off, a sign that anything could happen between these two teams.
