ESD 1 held a regular meeting via teleconference on May 18. President David O’Bannon called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. and a quorum was established. Board member AJ Gallerano gave a motion to accept the minutes of the April 20, 2020 meeting and Vice President Brandt Raeburn seconded; the motion carried with a vote of 5-0.
Judge Brett Bray called the Commissioners Court special meeting to order at 9:02 a.m. on May 26. All four commissioners were present and the meeting was broadcasted via Zoom.
Kenneth Welch, Blanco County citizen, provided public comments. He encouraged the court to provide citizens with a current assessment of the financial impacts from the pandemic.
State Rep. Erin Zwiener donated surgical face masks to community members in Johnson City. She distributed them to a local senior living and rehabilitation centers, Johnson City ISD families, and food pantries.

On Monday, June 1, the Record Courier office will reopen to the public during regular business hours, Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
In an abundance of caution, visitors are asked to wear a mask when entering the office. Visitors who do not have a mask will be asked to wait outside the front door as their business is conducted.

Our final Spring Senior Spotlight includes members of the LBJHS Fighting Eagle Band, Boys’ Track and the award-winning UIL One Act Play cast and crew. With the abrupt cancellation of spring activities the Senior Band members missed out on earning their fifth consecutive Sweepstakes Trophy which is awarded to bands who earn Division 1 ratings on the stage in their Concert performance and in Sight Reading during the spring UIL contest.
