BURNET—The title of the 1999 movie, Varsity Blues, describes some of Llano’s three 7-on-7 visits to the practice fields of its rival. There was enough pain, May 23, that we thought we’d let the junior varsity and freshmen perform in our opening act while the older guys rehab. “Good ball skills—both teams 2-0 tonight,” related head coach Craig Slaughter.
