Flying high for a 96th birthday
Evelyn Gould, of Llano, was taken for a helicopter ride last Thursday morning in celebration of her 96th birthday. One may wonder, why a helicopter ride to celebrate your birthday? Evelyn managed the Llano Airport for over 30 years, located on Hwy. 16 north of town, and the airport is located at 100 Evelyn Gould Drive - yes, the same Evelyn Gould in the photo. As a present, Becky Davis got with pilot Lee Callan, who flew into the airport for years when Evelyn managed it, and made arrangements for her to see Llano from the sky once again. She was all smiles as she got off the aircraft and the three embraced in a group hug.
