Addie Wootan:
My name is Addie Wootan. I am excited and proud to be a candidate for the Llano City Council. I was blessed to marry into a family that has a long history and association with Llano. I have lived in Llano County, with my husband Bill, for 48 years with 37 of those years in the City of Llano.
I'm Kelli Tudyk. Llano, Texas, has been my home for most of my life—it’s where I graduated in 1986, raised my three wonderful children, and built my life around family and community. I’ve had the privilege of owning and operating three local businesses, and throughout it all, I’ve always sought ways to give back to the community that shaped me.
I am from Corpus Christi, Texas, and grew up as a military brat (Army), moving frequently across the United States and overseas. I served 22 years in the USAF. After the military, I worked in landscape management and later as a Postmaster with the USPS.
Later in life, my wife and I managed a small cabin and RV park in Cloudcroft, New Mexico.
I grew up in Llano, graduated from Llano High School, and returned home in 2023 after 20 years away with experience in business, leadership, and strategic planning. I’m happily married to Dawna Virdell Allen, who also grew up and graduated from here, and we have two daughters, Claire and Audrey.
My name is Michael Herrera and I’m running for the Llano City Council. After retiring for the third time, my wife of 40 years and I decided it was time to come home. Originally from San Antonio, we wanted to live in the Texas hill country and Llano was just what we were looking for.
My name is Les McDaniel and I’m running for re-election to Llano City Council. My wife, Sarah, and I stay busy trying to keep up with our three kids, Rory, Sophie, and Lowen. We moved back to Llano for my work in 2019. We’d previously lived here a couple of years before moving back to Missouri to be closer to family while waiting for our oldest, Rory to be born, but life has a way of bringing you back sometimes.
Early voting in the 2026 Primary Election ends this Friday, and Election Day is Tuesday March 3. The most closely watched race on the ballot is the Precinct 4 County Commissioner seat. Incumbent Jerry Don Moss has held the position for nearly two decades, but this year, Robert Little is challenging him for the Republican nomination.
The plaintiffs in the federal lawsuit against Llano County have filed a petition to have their case heard at the highest level; now, the county has until Oct. 14, to file a response in opposition.
A 48-page petition for a writ of certiorari was filed with the U.S. Supreme Court on Sept.
Folks will have a chance to get into the Christmas spirit early this year, on Sunday, Dec. 17, as Llano’s Holy Trinity Catholic Church is hosting its first “Festival of Lessons and Carols” service.
“We’re really looking forward to this Christmas celebration for the community,” said church member Rich Pedersen, who is a baritone in the choir and one of the event organizers.
Turning and shining her flashlight toward the front of the nativity, the beam stopped on an oversized, armadillo-shaped stuffed animal that had come from LaFreda’s toy room. Olivia said, “When I opened my eyes after my prayer, I was startled by a hungry armadillo digging in the ground. Armed as I was, I raised my left hand to spotlight a way out of the barn while raising my right in preparation to swat at the armadillo’s hard shell, planning on prompting him toward a hasty retreat.” A ...
