Flag retirement
Pastor Jenny Tucker helped collect out of service U.S. flags at Highland Lakes United Methodist Church, at 8303 W. RR 1431, which hosted the official flag retirement celebration at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14. National Chaplain of the American Legion, Harvey Klee, presented a documented history of the flag retirement declaration and prayer. Two Cub Scouts from Pack 303, chartered at HLUMC, helped Ken Rousch to carefully dispose of each flag individually. Also on hand was Bill Edwards, Llano Country Constable, and friends and neighbors who brought out of service flags.
