Elfant and HLDW Encourage Voter Registration
The winner of HLDW’s Patriotic Independence Day Basket was Debbie Bewley.
Travis County Tax Assessor-Collector and Voter Registrar, Bruce Elfant, discussed increasing voter registration and turnout at the June 27 luncheon and meeting of the Highland Lakes Democratic Women. Elfant told the group that in the 2014 midterm elections, only 27% of registered voters cast a ballot. In contrast, 60% voted in the 2018 midterms.
