The Llano County Commissioners reinstated the Burn Ban on Monday, Oct. 27 at their regularly called meeting. The ban means that open fires are prohibited; burning under the ban could result in a Class C misdemeanor and a fine up to $500.
Commissioners approved a bond for Matt Rienstra, who was recently sworn in by County Judge Wayne Brascom as the First Assistant County Attorney.
Rienstra has been working with the County for the last three to four months.

The Hill Country Livestock Raisers Association, along with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, are hosting a Chute Side Program next Wednesday, November 5th, at the Llano County Community Center. Extension Livestock Specialists will be on hand to discuss cattle sorting and chute side management.
"I think this is an excellent program for all cattle producers to attend."
Writer’s Conference Slated for Nov. 8
Many writers got their start in writing from a love of reading. That doesn't mean that everyone who loves to read will have a burning desire to write a book. Most people are happy to just spend relaxing hours enjoying the stories that other people have put into print. But for those of you who are interested in writing, there will be a writing conference at the Llano Library next month for a little inspiration.

The Llano High School Band competed at the UIL Region 7 Marching contest on October 18th and received their 36th consecutive 1st Division Superior Rating. This earned them a trip to the UIL Area D Marching contest held in Cedar Park this last Saturday, October 25th. Although the LHS Band put on their finest performance of the year it was not quite good enough for them to advance to the Area Finals.
