Soup's On! Well, it was on Thursday, Feb. 12 at the Llano County Library with 12 soups to choose from including Chicken Tortilla, Very Veggie Chicken Dumpling, black-eyed pea, vegetable beef and a spicy tomato that was very tasty, yes, the writer had to do his on taste test. Director, Tommi Meyers said "we had 103 people come in to the Smack Down, next year we will have to make adjustments for more seating."
Many of the earliest men who settled in Llano County were brothers. Oddly, the German community near Castell, which was the first settlement, had almost no brothers who immigrated to Texas together in 1847. AUSTIN—The Llano High golf team's season has begun at Onion Creek Club. The Llano High team hopes it ends in the same place—with its own place in the standings just one rung higher. The Jackets, with hopes as high as Kentucky men and UConn women in basketball, finished second to Argyle in this State Preview event.
Llano's basketball seasons concluded February 17 after press time. The boys were in Burnet. A loss meant a 1-9 record in district, while the girls have already finished 0-10. The football and volleyball teams were also winless in district. There are sports' observers, who may be intelligent enough to offer some answers as to why victories match the population of Brian Williams' Fan Club.
BRADY—A heartfelt double for the Llano powerlifting team in the Bulldog gymnasium two days before Valentine's Day. The Jackets will be represented well at the region meets, and Clint Easley's squad finished second in Brady in a field of 16 teams. "Very good, very proud of the way the kids have done,"
I don't fly too often—a few times a year, domestic trips. I went to Atlanta Valentine's Weekend. I want to talk about baggage. Some airlines are charging for checking bags, so passengers are bringing on board suitcases—that's what we used to call 'em—so big you wonder what remains in their closets. I saw a couple of women lifting those "trunks"

This year I celebrate another birthday. The only thing I am wrestling with is which birthday am I going to celebrate? I have so many from which to choose, it is hard to pick out the birthday I want to celebrate. I believe, since it is my birthday, I have the option and right to pick which birthday I am going to celebrate. In thinking this matter over, I have been tempted to celebrate my first birthday because I have no memories of that birthday whatsoever. To celebrate my first birthday would b ...
