Mark Edmund Joy, age 50, of Llano, Texas, passed away Friday, August 14, 2015, while working in Mason County. Graveside services were held at 10:30 AM Monday, August 17, 2015, at Admiral Cemetery, Callahan County, Baird, Texas, with Pastor Jimmy Hatcher officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Funeral Home in Baird.

On Friday, September 4, a group gathered to discuss the Llano River, the Llano Uplift, how to be promote it and how to protect it, the kick off to the Llano Eco Summit and precursor to the Sun Splash Moon Dance. Greg Klein was the visionary for the event, and with help from Master Gardener Marcus Hammons, it was brought to fruition.
