In spite of a rather “iffy” golf weather forecast early in the day, by afternoon the sun was shining brightly and 27 golfers ventured out to take advantage of ideal conditions. By the time the 5 teams had finished their rounds, Jimmie Fore’s team of Donald, Richard, Carol, Patsy and Mike rolled in with a score of 7 strokes under par, and appeared to be the favorite to win first place.
