Food Prices Show Slight Increase
Fourth quarter food prices in Texas showed a slight increase, up 2.23 percent from last quarter, according to Texas Farm Bureau’s (TFB) Grocery Price Watch survey. The meat counter was mixed, with ground beef and pork chops decreasing in price and sirloin steak and boneless chicken breasts increasing. “Grocery prices have been trending downward all year, but this quarter showed a slight increase,” Shannon Worrell, Mason County Farm Bureau president, said.
