The Lion’s Roar
The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, February 7th, for it’s weekly luncheon meeting. There were 32 members and 2 visitors in attendance. “Boss” Lion Jess Irwin said that in 1949, Joe DiMaggio became the first major league ballplayer to receive a salary of $100,000 per year. “Boss” Jess gave us a short list of major league ballplayers who today are receiving $30,000,000 per year or more.
