Much of my work is driven by my upbringing. I was born in the small town of Mason, Texas, and where I spent much of my childhood. At home my family lives and works on our family-owned and operated cattle ranch, The Schmidt Hereford Ranch. With a rich ranching history dating back to the year 1900, ranching is in my blood and inspires much of my artistic expression. In my woodcut prints I have combined my ranching lifestyle with my artistic aesthetic.
