Let’s keep them that way! “Dark Skies and Why They Matter” Electric lights were introduced less than 150 years ago. In that short time, star-filled night skies have largely disappeared from all populated areas, including Fredericksburg. However, with prudent use of non-glare lighting, it is possible to have both dark night skies and safe streets.
