COVID-19 Cases in Mason County Reach Record Levels
In comments late Monday, Mason County Judge Jerry Bearden reminded residents that Governor Abbot’s restrictions on restaurants and bars (as to capacity) automatically kick in when the number of active cases stays above 30 for an extended period. Mason County has just dropped to 38 active cases, with 13 pending, from 52 just prior to Christmas and a staggering 65 just after the holiday. If the number of cases rises, or does not drop above 30, he warned that restrictions will be necessary.
