The date of publication is my birthday. I don’t get too excited over birthdays anymore. They do seem to come faster. I didn’t have many parties when I was a kid. School was always starting the same week or had just started and birthdays were not as important as school. There will be a special treat at our house and then we will proceed with all the chores that we do daily.
As I write this on Sunday afternoon, we have been teased with a few showers. I doubt it will measure in the gauge but we are grateful for each drop.
We were treated to Bible School closing on Sunday morning at the Art Methodist Church. The children performed and then their backpacks were blessed. We took the noisy offering for missions while the men’s choir sang. It was a joyful morning.
The men’s choir will practice Tuesday, August 24, at 6 to prepare for the Fifth Sunday Ministerial Alliance Service on August 29.
Class Meetings continue on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 following soup at 6.
Plan to stay after church on September 12 for a special Grandparents Day Lunch hosted by Abraham and Amanda Leamons.
Happy Birthday to Freddy Leamons on August 18 and to Brandy Loeffler Kothmann on August 24. Happy Anniversary to Sam and Maribelle Hoerster on August 19 and to my sweet husband John and my anniversary on August 23.
Make yours a good week.
