Tejas Art Club has named Claudia Smith their April Artist of the Month. Smith, a longtime resident of Blanco, first saw the painting group while she was volunteering at the library. She enjoyed looking at the artwork and was soon encouraged to join. “Olga (Ibarra) encouraged me and I decided to go and she lent me supplies,” Smith said. Smith had always been crafty, starting out as a doll collector who also made dolls for her daughters.
