Panther Band Advances to Area Competition Next Week —
Members of the Blanco High School Band perform Saturday, Oct.21, 2017 at the Region 12 U.I.L. Regional Marching Contest in San Antonio, earning top rating to qualify to Area Competition.

On Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, the Blanco Panther Marching Band traveled to San Antonio to compete in the Region 12 U.I.L Regional Marching Contest. At 12:45 p.m. at the Heroes Stadium in San Antonio the Panther Band performed their show, Reborn: From Tragedy to Triumph, composed by Luke McMillan of Abilene, which they have diligently practiced since the beginning of August. Drum majors for the band are Clarissa Derby and Mitchell Barnett, and the drumline captain is Mario Sanchez.
