Blanco Country Residents Want to Inspire Youth to Take Flight
Dan Brandenstein and Bill Davoust are two retired aviators who serve as volunteer pilots in the EAA Young Eagle program that takes children ages 8 to 17 on free flights to inspire them to consider careers in aviation.

Three area veteran pilots are part of a volunteer program that gives students between the ages of 8 and 17 the opportunity to experience the freedom of flight and see first-hand what pilots do. The Young Eagles program, sponsored by the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), provides a one-on-one flight experience for young people exposing them to a possible career in aviation.
