Blanco PD, Dollar General team up to help kids
Students in the Mother’s Day Out Program at Blanco Elementary School receive a special visitor, school resource officer Steve Harris. Harris and other officers distributed books and toys at the school before Christmas break after people donated items at Dollar General.

The children’s smiles were broad and bright in the Mother’s Day Out class at Blanco Elementary School when the school resource officer showed up, new books in hand. Officer Steve Harris did not just give the children the books, but he read them a story as they sat with rapt attention. “This was such a wonderful day for these children,” said Mother’s Day Out teacher Keitha Johnson.
