No active COVID-19 cases present in Blanco County

COVID-19 testing is now available for anyone in Blanco County.

Testing will now be done by local EMS providers, the county’s emergency management office announced Monday. To register for an appointment, visit www.BlancoCOVIDTest.org. If you have problems registering, call 844-868-8308.

BCEM announced Friday that there are no active cases of COVID-19 in the county as of 6 p.m. that day. There have been six confirmed cases in Blanco County, and all six people have recovered. Confirmed cases are those which have been confirmed by a laboratory for having the virus.

There have been 24 likely cases in the county, and 16 of those have recovered, according to BCEM. Likely cases are those who have symptoms of COVID-19, but have not had lab confirmation.

The state held testing this month at two Blanco County sites. On May 2, testing was held in Johnson City with 94 people participating. All 94 tests came back negative, which means that those who were tested did not have the virus. Testing was held May 12 in Blanco, but results of those tests were not available at press time.
