Lights Spectacular celebrates beginnings
Some members of the Lights Spectacular board at opening night 1990. Pictured, from left, are: Rhonda Stell, vice chair; Master Electrician George Marek; Rosie Danz, who won the naming contest “Lights Spectacular - Hill Country Style;” Norma Honeycutt, chair; Ralph Moss, Johnson City mayor; and Neatta Cade. Not pictured: David Ripsom; Ronnie Batchelor; Conrad Carbary; and Alton Moreland.

Danz was the 1990 Johnson City Chamber of Commerce president at the time and said, “Norma Honeycutt made this possible, and we’re so blessed she joined our community.” Honeycutt was a newcomer and Garden Club president in 1990.
