The Guadalupe River is arguably one of the best known rivers in Texas. In 1964, the Army Corps of Engineers recognized the need to dam up the Guadalupe River about 12 miles west of New Braunfels, TX to stop the severe flash flooding issues. They created a water reservoir which is now known as Canyon Lake.
BURNET-- Enjoy two days of cultural exhibits, weapons demonstrations and Native American dances at the Hill Country Heritage Expo hosted by Inks Lake State Park. The event is free to the public with park entry fees and runs Oct. 5-6. The fun is kicking off Friday with a teepee talk interpretive event at 6 p.m., then visitors can groove into the weekend at a historical dance from 7:30 p.m.- 9 p.m. Saturday’s festivities begin at 10 a.m.
Muziky Performance to Honor Vrazels Polka Band The Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center in La Grange will host the annual Heritage Festival & Muziky on October 19 and 20. The Fest will open at 4 pm on Friday with their famous homemade chicken and dumplings served while it lasts in the Hanslik Banquet Hall beginning at 5:30 pm. The Polka On!
October is Wurstfest time of year. If you’re looking for authentic German fare, look no further than the historic Germnan Village at the New Braunfels Conservation Society, 1300 Church Hill Drive in New Braunfels. The annual Kaffee Haus, will be held November 5th through 9th in the 1865 General Store at the historic village.
Texas Market Guide announces its ninth event of the year. The sixth annual Hill Country Harvest Market comes to Dripping Springs Ranch Park. The park is located at 1042 Event Center Drive Dripping Springs, TX just off of Ranch Road 12 and Hwy 290 (Across from Dripping Springs Elementary School).
S.T.A.G.E., Inc. is honored to present the first show of our 40th Season, RING OF FIRE THE MUSIC OF JOHNNY CASH Created by: Richard Maltby Jr. Conceived by: William Meade, on October 5 through 22. Opening night is a benefit performance for Friends of Bulverde/Spring Branch Library. All seats are $20 for the October 4 performance and no season tickets will be accepted. Ticket prices for all remaining shows are $20 for adults, $17 for seniors 62+/military and $12 for students.
