Born out of a desire to celebrate Texas and Americana music as well as benefiting the local United Way, the Gruene Music & Wine Fest began in 1986. Preparations for the 32nd event, slated for Oct 4-7, have been well under way, and though it started as a one-day music fest, it now spans four days with four distinct events and includes the celebration of wine, craft beer, food and gift items handmade in Texas.

The Sacred Springs Powwow is the largest two-day outdoor powwow in Texas and it happens in San Marcos, this year on November 17 and 18 on the shores of the headwaters of the San Marcos River. The event is produced by local nonprofit Indigenous Cultures Institute and funded by the San Marcos Arts Commission, the Tomblin Family Foundation, Texas Commission on the Arts, and Friends of the Powwow.

FREDERICKSBURG, TEXAS - Oktoberfest, the family-oriented German event taking place in the center of Fredericksburg, is poised to again attract 1,400 volunteers and 25,000 visitors in its 38th year.
As a result, the oom-pah-pah echo of 37 previous years will carry over in the hearts and minds of people who have made the event an annual tradition, many who traversed hundreds of miles to attend.
