One of Stefan Haelbig’s most esteemed students was Walter Faust, Jr. Walter was born January 15, 1905 into the prominent Faust family of New Braunfels. The Faust’s were the first bankers and large merchants in town with many financial connections and investments. Five Faust mansions were built in New Braunfels in the 1880’s – early 1900’s.

Western Trappings on The Llano, a juried exhibit and sale featuring the finest in original art and custom western gear, is again slated to be held at the Llano County Historical Museum, 310 Bessemer Ave. in Llano. Now in its seventh year, Trappings showcases 113 pieces of artwork created by 53 world renowned artists from all over the United States and will be displayed from Oct 19 through Nov 2.
