The Johnson City Board of Education met on November 9, 2015 for their regularly scheduled meeting with all members present.
The first item discussed was the construction report from the stadium contractors. The contractors said that the majority of the site work was complete, concrete forms are in for the concession stand and field house and the work completed to date has passed all inspections.

The Blanco County Commissioners met on November 11, 2015 for their regularly scheduled meeting. The first discussion item on the agenda was the transfer of funds from one budget line item to another to purchase a motor grader. The transfer was for $13,710, unused funds that came from money that the county provided to the Probation Office in the amount of $13,000.
For LBJ High Schooler Kaitlyn Arvesen, the Eagles shutting out Sabinal wasn't the most exciting part of this past Friday night's football game. Arvesen was presented her State Winning banner for State Solo and Ensemble Outstanding Clarinet Performer which will be proudly displayed at the High School along with the other State victories LBJHS has recieved throughout the years.
Pretty exciting for a Junior in high school, but top that off with a shiny tiara placed on her head as she was announced ...
Gnome One Should Go Hungry. You may have noticed the garden gnomes roaming around town, landing in the yard of community members, church friends and local businesses. The Johnson City Eagles hosted Sabinal for their final home game of the season and the last game to be played at Shockley Field. Coach Brent Harris prepared his team for what would be a great ending to the regular season and closing one of Central Texas' oldest stadiums.

Donald Wayne Becker, age 77 of Seguin, passed away on November 8, 2015. Don was born in Seguin, Texas on March 31, 1938 to Paul E. Becker and Annie Mae Rux Becker. He passed away peacefully the morning of November 8, 2015.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Emma Jean, one son, Rev.

I cannot prove the existence of God. There. I said it.
But let me be clear: I can point to evidence that suggests a Creator.

My wife was driving one morning when we passed through Silver City, New Mexico. I noticed that the flag in front of an elementary school was flying upside down. I asked my wife to turn around so that we could find out what was happening at that school.
I entered the school office and was greeted pleasantly by a receptionist who asked if she could help me.
