Johnson City residents filled the City Park Building to express their disapproval at rezoning two residential lots into multi-family zones. The district’s board of trustees met May 9, 2017, and named Richard Kolek as the lone finalist to take over the superintendent role for Johnson City ISD. Kolek has spent 24 years in education including teaching and administrative experience. He is currently the Deputy Superintendent for Taylor ISD, a title he has held for 5 years.

The Johnson City Eagles continue to show why they are comeback kids. The Eagles dropped the first game to the Yoakum Bulldogs and posted a 10-point rule victory Friday. The Eagles then proceeded to win a classic game Saturday claiming the Area Championship and set up a rematch with district foe Gateway College Prep. Commissioners held their regular Court Session on Tuesday, May 9. In the meeting, it was announced that City of Blanco paid their fees for County Dispatch Services; Commissioners approved a lease of the Old Blanco County Jail; and the contract from Fromberg Associates LTD was approved for construction of the South County Annex. Dispatch Services In an informational agenda item, Judge Bray announced that City of Blanco paid in full their dues to Blanco County for use of Dispatch Services.
