Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, was the last day Democratic or Republican party candidates could file an application for a place on the state primary ballot.
Filing applications for a place on a local general election ballot starts Jan. 17, 2018, and ends Feb. 16, 2018.
The Secretary of State’s office is required to publish a list of candidates no later than Dec.
The Johnson City Varsity Boys competed in the Annual Comfort Christmas Tournament, playing five games in three days. The Eagles finished fourth out of ten teams, with three wins and two losses.

Since flu season started in October 2017, over three-thousand Texans are reported to have tested positive for influenza according to the Texas Department of State Health services. A high rate that is expected to increase as we get closer to peak flu season.
