You couldn’t blame the guests at Sunday’s Bamberger Ranch Preserve Annual Family Picnic if they didn’t believe host J David Bamberger when he told them that there was no water on the 5,500-acre Selah property when he purchased it in 1969. After all, the 2.9-mile drive from the main gate to The Center where they were standing took them over or through five crystal clear streams and along the shores of Madrone Lake.
The PAWS Shelter of Central Texas has opened its second campus near the Blanco County line at 2965 FM 165.
The no-kill shelter has operated in Kyle for 33 years and its Building Committee has been raising funds for its second operation for years, according to Executive Director Melody Hilburn. PAWS is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build good will and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
Those four questions make up the moral code Rotarians all around world use as a test for what they think, do and say in their personal and business relationships, which is called the Four-Way Test.

FREDERICKSBURG, TX — Hill Country Memorial is hosting interviews for job openings within its system.
Those wanting to be a part of Hill Country Memorial’s award-winning legacy are asked to bring a current resume to the open interviews and should be prepared to interview on the spot.
Open interviews will be held at Hill Country Memorial Hospital’s Learning Centers located at 1020 S.
The Lady Eagles 8th Grade girls finished runner-up in team scoring in the District 25-3A Tennis Meet on Saturday at Leander High School and there were other highlights for both the boys and girls. Avery Tumlinson and Hannah Snodgrass won the 8th Girls Doubles Championship. Blaze and Dusti Welch placed 3rd in 8th Mixed Doubles.

The Marion Bulldogs edged the Johnson City Eagles 3-1, 6-5 in the best-of-three Bi-District playoff last weekend to advance to the Area Round of the UIL State Baseball Playoffs. On Thursday night Marion drew first blood in the bottom of the first when Tayler Mills drew a walk then scored on the stand-up double to centerfield by Walker Rudisaile.
