Under the “Financial Transparency” tab on the City of Johnson City’s website, the annual financial audits that are required by state law are not there for the last four fiscal years.
Only the audits from fiscal years ending Sept. 30, 2012, Sept. 30, 2014, and Sept. 30, 2015 are available online, although Texas law requires them to be published every year.

North Blanco County ESD 1 held a Regular meeting on January 20, 2020. President David O’Bannon called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m., and a quorum was established. Minutes of the December regular meeting were approved following motion from Board Member Kirk McElhinney and second from Board Secretary-Treasurer Kay Odiorne.
The Blanco County Commissioners Court was called to order at 9:00 a.m. with Judge Brett Bray and Commissioners Tommy Weir, Emil Uecker, Chris Liesmann, and Paul Granberg present.
The minutes of the prior meeting were approved.
Next the court reviewed the line items. Judge Bray requested a $5,000 line item transfer to cover the overdraft due to the auditor employment ad in newspapers.
The outstanding bills of $284,895.95 were approved next.

On January 20, 2020, at approximately 5:38 p.m. an auto versus pedestrian accident was reported to Blanco County 911.
The crash occurred in the 500 block of US HWY 281 South, in front of El Charro Mexican Restaurant.
Initial reports from a witness advised that a male and female walked across US Hwy 281 from the Road Runner RV Park and were struck by a black Ford F-150 Pick-up truck that was traveling southbound.
If you've been by the Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm at LBJ State Park lately, you've noticed a new resident in the cow pasture. This Hereford bull is visiting from LBJ National Park. Though you can usually see him at the show barn at the LBJ Ranch, he is temporarily at the farm to breed one of the dairy cows.
The office of State Rep. Erin Zwiener will continue hosting roving district office hours in Johnson City on the second Wednesday of every month at City Hall. Rep. AUSTIN — Gov. Greg Abbott said Jan. 22 that a Trump administration decision reestablishes the federal partnership for the Women's Health Program in Texas.
Abbott issued a statement concerning the approval of the 1115 Waiver for Healthy Texas Women:

The Johnson City Community Education Foundation (JCCEF) – coming off their largest fundraising total in a calendar year in 2019 - hopes to raise the bar even higher this year to the benefit of deserving graduates of the LBJ High School Class of 2020. The foundation – established in 2006 – hosts their 3rd Annual Valentine Gala on Saturday, February 8th which in a short time has become the primary fundraiser for the scholarship fund.
The LBJ High School Varsity Eagles are settling in to the new system of first-year Head Coach Drew Baker, putting up bigger point totals on offense and using their quickness to overcome a lack of size in an aggressive half-court defense.
Still seeking their first District 25-3A win, the Eagles have played close to their last three opponents, including a 60-44 home loss to IDEA-Montopolis on Friday in which they held an early eight-point lead and entered the final period trialing by six.

My sister learned to whistle at age two.
She was precocious in other ways as well. She knew how to read by the time she started kindergarten. She demonstrated a physical dexterity I never did. She was much more talented at the piano. But it was the whistling that really got to me.
I was six when she started to whistle and I remember it clearly.
They originally met at the house of a friend. The young man entered the kitchen as the young woman was making a cup of hot chocolate, and it was love at first sight.
