The CARES Act (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act) is a $2 trillion stimulus package that provides economic relief for individuals and small businesses and increases federal funding for public health initiatives and research. Teri Albright thought she found some clear water in her barn shower. Child abuse is a concern in every community and crosses all racial, economic and cultural lines. It is committed by both men and women, and sometimes even by young people themselves. Sadly, most often the abuser is a parent, family member, or someone with regular access to the child. Common stressors increase the risk of abuse and neglect.
Fredericksburg— As Hill Country Memorial (HCM) looks to further ensure protecting its patients and keeping the community well, it has cancelled all elective surgeries for the foreseeable future. Also, in observance of social distancing, the Foundation for HCM has cancelled upcoming fundraising events. These decisions were made knowing the financial hardship that would result.
The Blanco County Friends of the Night Sky (BCFNS) has announced the 2020 Hill Country Night Sky Songwriting Contest. This year’s contest, open to songwriters of any genre or residence, focuses on the theme “Preserving the Night Sky.” Deadline for song submission is September 25, 2020. “Last year’s contest was such a success we decided to do it again!” said Larry Seiler, BCFNS treasurer and owner of the Los Senderos Recording Studio located between Blanco and Johnson City.
AUSTIN — Gov. Greg Abbott on April 1 posted an online video message seeking Texans’ individual and collective help to reduce the spread of the deadly new coronavirus, COVID-19. So far there have been no reported cases in Bandera County, but that could change.
