On Friday, June 28, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held to commemorate the opening of the Barrel House, located at 101 E. Main St. in Llano. The building is previously known as Main Street Affairs. The Barrel House brings an experience unique to Llano and its visitors by offering a relaxing lounge where guests can enjoy popular Texas craft beers, choose from over 90 wines, and in two months, have the opportunity to sip their choice of liquor, cocktail or mixed drink.
Owners Brittany and Chuck Baker have long been interested in buying Main Street Affairs. Brittany, an avid wine extraordinaire, knew that she wanted to enter the wine industry after her first trip to Napa Valley wine country in California. She enjoyed drinking wine at Main Street Affairs and recalls that it felt comfortable—like home. That homey feeling will continue to be eminent, with the addition of more seating space for guests to gather in groups as large as 14.
Brittany was born and raised in Llano. She was a teacher for 25 years, teaching in San Antonio and Llano. She retired from teaching in 2018 and received her real estate license in 2014. She plans to continue working as a real estate agent at Frosty Miller’s Ranch. Chuck grew up in LaVernia, Texas. The two met while Brittany was teaching in San Antonio. Chuck owns and operates Texas Hog Hunts, providing hunting leases.
The lounge has partnered with Gio’s Italian Restaurant and Joe’s Bar and Grill, providing a menu for Barrel House guests to place orders to be delivered as they enjoy a beverage in a relaxing and tasteful environment. Along with eight Texas craft beers on draft, over 25 bottled beers, champagne, prosecco and liquor, the Barrel House offers a share cutting board, containing meat from Miiller’s Smokehouse and sliced cheeses, served on a platter, pairing well with your drink of choice. Beer tasting is available, offering guests a sampling board of four drafts.
On Saturdays, the Barrel House opens at 10 a.m. to serve a mimosa bar. Guests can pick their choice of fruit and juice, providing a fun, friendly start to the weekend. As with the previous business, the Barrel House will host Pizza Night on Thursdays, service free slices to guests. The Barrel House plans to offer live music on the weekends, providing the opportunity for a night out on the Llano Square.
The Bakers thank their family and community for their helping hand in getting their new business ready for opening night. Come experience the Barrel House and be served by Karen Rodgers, Shaden Allen or Lindsey Virdell. Experience something new and unique. Experience the Barrel House.
