Erma Lee Inman passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015 in Llano, Texas at the age of 89. She was born January 28, 1926 in Carthage, Illinois to Lula (Gillonwater) and Fred Belknap. She married Ralph Inman on November 28, 1943 in Keokuh, Missouri. She was a dedicated homemaker all her life.
The Dodgers’ Chase Utley was suspended for two games in the National League Division Series—he is appealing—because he slid into the Mets’ Ruben Tejada on a play at second base, and Tejada suffered a fractured leg.
I haven’t seen the replays and have no intention of watching them. I have no clue whether the play was “legal”, and I certainly don’t care.

It wasn’t a victory, but the Jackets did grab a game off a good Taylor volleyball team, October 6, and it was an entertaining contest, won by the Ducks, 3-1.
There was little consolation for Llano head coach John Black. “We didn’t play as well as we could have,” he said.
LAMPASAS—Eight days before the district Cross Country Meet takes place on the Badgers’ campus, the 25-4A teams gathered to run the same course in a crucial tune-up for round one of Postseason on the Trails.
“My time was pretty good,” said Jason Gann, Llano’s top entrant in the men’s division. He journeyed the 3.1 miles in 17 minutes, 20 seconds, and finished third in a field of close to a hundred.
Wimberley’s 24-0 punishment of Llano, October 9, reminded me of going to games with my dad when I was nine or 10, and our team was losing.

He was as mad as I was, but he had to remain the mature adult—not that I knew what the word meant.
In our house, we have an ongoing debate. The Gracious Mistress of the Parsonage claims I am the king of procrastination.
At first, I did not quite understand what she was talking about and asked if I could get back to her on that question.
She has the idea that I put things off until the last minute, then, according to her, I am in a panic to get it done.
I am not saying she is right; she just might have a good point there.
October is named annually “PASTOR APPRECIATION MONTH,” but some may wonder why pastors deserve an official time to be appreciated.
What’s so special about the ministry?
Frequently, I look back to my youth and give thanks for pastors who made positive changes in my life. Perhaps the primary reason for appreciating pastors is because of their important role of being life changers.
Some don’t appreciate these servants of God and seize any opportunity to depreciate them and their work.
It’s totally unpredictable as to what types of articles appeal to various readers. Except for those focusing on a particular family or individual, which are naturally appreciated by descendants, overall appeal tends to stem from two directions. Men especially like articles about the days of the Indians, outlaws, etc.—anything pertaining to the Old West, and women enjoy reading about what life in general was like in the early days.

Thomas Carroll Fain, 86, of Llano, left his earthly home and was welcomed home into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 7, 2015.
He was born in Coryell County, Texas to Horace Edgar and Ruth Carroll Fain on September 28, 1929, the third of seven children.
It all began 80 years ago in a dusty arena on the outskirts of Llano, a sport that grew out of the cattle industry in the American West. A sport that has Llano written all over it, names like 8-time world champion team roper, Rich Skelton and no Professional Cowboy has qualified for more National Finals Rodeos and National Finals Steer Ropings than Tee Woman.
Dear Editor,
A year ago when the Riley Mountain well was being discussed I said I didn’t want to spend a dime on a second water source without first taking advantage of every drop of water we already have in our lakes.
At our last City Council session I proposed the idea of a sand point, consisting of a wide diameter stainless steel mesh cylinder crossing the granite river bed at or near the dam.
Dear Editor,
Last Saturday, October 10, our family buried our dear brother, Thomas Fain. Sometime between 4:00 pm and church on Sunday, someone viciously cut all the fresh flowers from the casket spray and the flower sprays from our family and friends.
When our family went to view the beautiful tributes, there was nothing but greenery.

Thus the Hoffmann’s in the effort to provide aid for utilities, food, clothing, medical needs, and other necessary items, they established New Horizons.

As I mentioned in a previous article, we did an informal survey at Llano ISD and found our numbers to be about 30% without access, which is in line with other surveys from other schools around the country.
The obvious question is, “Does it really matter?” There are plenty of studies that support the fa ...

So it went in town after Mexican town. It seemed that my father was known in nearly every village, town and city in Mexico as he purchased more than 300 properties and supervised the construction of 30 churches and as many schools.
