Dan was born to John and Ruth Lee Eaton in San Angelo, Texas on March 21, 1938. He spent his early years in Sonora on Eaton Hill. After high school graduation, he went into the United States Army Reserve. From there Dan went to Abilene Christian College for his predental studies.
The Jacket boys not only got a great comeback win over Goldthwaite as time was running out on 2015—see companion story—but they picked up a 49-42 decision against Lago Vista on the second day of the new year.
“By far the hottest we’ve started {all season},” declared head coach Blake Sieck.
It’s hoped the Llano basketball girls had a better holiday than they had in a winless five-day stretch of games, as one month took on a new name, and one year took on a new number.

Here we go again, tricked into thinking it is a New Year when there is absolutely nothing new about it. It is the same ole, same ole, Déjà vu all over again. The person who invented this “New Year” ought to be sued for defamation of characterization.
I have seen more New Years than I can remember and have concluded that it is a misnomer.

In the last month or so, five homeowners received notice – either verbally, or via certified letter that they needed to install backflow prevention assemblies to their water meters, as per Ordinance 1267, the CIty’s policy for Cross Connection Control.
The City, and all water utility providers, must have a policy for preventing cross connections to the public water supply so that the chance for contamination via backsiphoning or backpressure on the line is eliminated.

He is survived by his mother, Frieda Malik; his brothers Benjamin Malik and wife Sherry of Yokum, Mark Malik and wife Suzanne of Horseshoe Bay and sisters,Janell Malik of Llano and Jennifer Hoepfl and husband Paul of Houston.

Robert “Bob” Lee Glover was born December 16, 1940 in Van Zandt County, Texas to Leo and Adene Glover. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family January 1, 2016 at the age of 75. Bob graduated from Kountze High School in 1958 and earned his Masters of Education from Sam Houston State College in 1969.

December 31, 2015, at the Horseshoe Bay Resort, a new tradition for Llano was unfolding. A night that would see dreams come closer to fruition. The dream of a zero-depth splash pad at Badu Park, the dream of an ADA compliant dock for fishing, kayaking, and canoing. An early Sunday morning collision just west of the Buchanan Dam left a Taylor man, dead, and a Buchanan Dam resident injured.
