Non-related Cunninghams face off in first name duel
The Llano County Tea Party told candidates for Republican nominations in the March 6 primary that the forum on the first night of February at the American Legion Hall was going to be “civil.”
In all the face-offs, very much including the county judge’s contest, the five-letter word was adhered to as much as its companions—mommy and apple in apple pie—would have been.
The following are comments from Judge Mary Cunningham and challenger Ron Cunningham.
It was part revival, part sales pitch as Democrats met Saturday to hear from their candidates.
In Marble Falls, Democratic Party groups from Llano, Burnet and Bianco counties met to hear speeches and visit with candidates for state house, congress, agriculture commissioner, lieutenant governor and governor. Candidates spoke excitedly about a “blue tsunami” of candidates and voters that they expect to hit Texas.
Jennie Lou Leeder of Llano is one of two Democrats running for U.S.
Local candidates on the March 6 primary ballot for the Republican Party spoke to voters last Thursday at the Llano Tea Party’s forum held at the American Legion Hall.

For county clerk, incumbent Marci Hadeler faces challenger Clay Etter.
It happens every year. Llano comes together for a few hours for a little treasure hunting for some, and for others, a time to part ways with items that are no longer needed.
The name changed from City-wide Garage Sale last year, after an organization in Austin trademarked the name, to Llano Trade Day.
It was sort of like Senator Cornyn knocking on your door and telling you he’s had car trouble and wondering if he could come in from the cold. Hey, mom!
There it was on the UIL printout, in the midst of all the schools Llano always draws for district football opponents.
And now, introducing Llano High’s non-football district. This translates to one that shows enrollments between 505 and 1,149. The Jackets, of course, are a tad closer to the three-digit number, but there are two positives—in some people’s minds—Burnet and Liberty Hill, while both 4A, are not in a league (28-4A, Region IV) with Llano.
Athletes from football, volleyball and cross country were recognized this week at the Llano High School fall sports banquet. Here are a few photos from the event.

Dear Editor,
Last Wednesday, a gas attendant in our little town required me to prove to her I have a disability by showing her my placard and my wheelchair. She told me that I had to have the disability license plate, which is not required. I always call the station and tell them I am there, am in a wheelchair and need assistance with filling my car.

For years, we’ve failed to adequately invest in the infrastructure of our city. Any city’s infrastructure, must be maintained, enhanced, and from time to time must be rebuilt. If this principle wasn’t adopted we’d still be using buckets, a path to the river, and an outhouse.
• Did you know that our water system operated at a loss for the past five years, most recently in the amount of over $300,000 annually? What does that mean? Simply that the money that y ...

One of the richest families in Virginia then, their ancestral home sat on the highest point of ground around Washington D.C.
General Lee had a privileged life, everything was given him as though it were his natural due, including the best educa ...
